My goal is to provide readers a momentary escape from thinking of the past or future, and to focus on the experience of the moment; taking in the poem or sketch, the feelings that arise, the sensations it produces.

Breathe in
breathe out

To surrender
to the flow of life;
that is true freedom.
The steam
dancing off tea
to an unheard song
The soft snow
falling gracefully
not a flake out of place
Ice on trees
like so many crystals
shining in the evening sun
A breath, the beginning
reaching into the void
to return with peace and joy
The waves crashing around him
he stands tall
and breathes
Rushing to the sea
A stream of water diverted
pools in the road
Sitting unmoved
the world passing by.
Wise old cat;
A sage?
Sitting quietly
Nothing to do
The forest comes alive
