My goal is to provide readers a momentary escape from thinking of the past or future, and to focus on the experience of the moment; taking in the poem or sketch, the feelings that arise, the sensations it produces.

The peach puts forth its pink blossoms
Does it not know we are to stay inside?
The pandemic surges on
Unaware
The peach blooms
Yelling up the stairs
My old cat
Lonely Tonight
Like stepping stones
along the path
The periwinkle leads to spring
Empty, the birdhouse hangs
Unfit for even a sparrow
To make a home
Raindrops racing
on a window pane.
Merge into one and
continue the journey.
A kite caught in a tree
Like us, wanting to fly
Stuck in lofty aspirations
Retreating snow
Chased
By the sun’s rays.
The freshly laid snow
pockmarked by
the morning’s travelers
Shining off the snow
the winter sun
blazes on the horizon
